Texas State Champion 2-year old gelding It's hard to believe that I've had Secret for five years now. He's pushing 16 hands and is a beautiful deep golden Palomino. His favorite activity of the day is the bedtime tuck-in carrot he receives each night about 9 p.m. when I kiss him good night. In the summer of 2006, we reached a goal I set when I purchased him from you all as a yearling in 2002 -- competing in Junior Trail at the Palomino World Championships. I rode him to a fifth place finish, beating the horse that was leading the nation in junior trail at the time under all four judges. We also competed in four other classes at the 2006 World Show - Novice Showmanship, Novice Western Horsemanship, Novice Trail and Novice Hunter Under Saddle. We ended the week with two top fives and three top tens. Secret and I both get a kick out of it when people come up to me and try to guess how he's bred -- it's fun to share his secret: "He's a solid color Appaloosa." I can then take the opportunity to point out his App characteristics: white sclera, mottled skin, and striped hooves. His first PHBA World Show was in 2005, we placed in Amateur 2001 Halter Geldings, Novice Trail and Novice Hunter Under Saddle. We also continue to participate in our regional Gulf Coast Appaloosa shows. Last year, he was the regional high point horse for Aged Geldings, Non Pro Geldings, 35 and Over Showmanship and 35 and Over Western Pleasure. In 2006, we also enjoyed participating in a fund raising trail ride for our area's largest therapeutic horseback riding program: SIRE. Secret is as dependable out on the trail as he is in the show ring. He's truly a joy to have in the barn. K. Leonard |

Hello Bill & Mauri,
"Boy time flies, I contacted you about 21 years ago about a gelding my parents
got me for Christmas. I named him Cherokee Blaze and he's out of Apache Swamp Angel and
Plaudit's Son O'Gun .... I still have Cherokee and he is now 24 years
old. He's in good health and his main job is baby sitting my two mules. He doesn't get ridden much unless my 7 year old daughter rides him. He's been
the most wonderful horse I could ever have asked for and we've been through a lot together....
Just thought you may be interested to know one of the "old guys" is still out there kicking.
Just thought I'd say hello."
Thanks Lori!
Plaudit's Son O'Gun, was one of
our first ApHC stallions. He was by Prince Plaudit and out of School Dress, a
branded Wiescamp AQHA mare.

This is the kind of stuff we just love to hear from folks that
have purchased Rock Bottom-bred horses --
be it recently or 20 + years ago!
He was a full brother to Prince's Shiek, 2X World Champion Reining Horse
(Jr. and Sr.) owned, trained, and exhibited by Joel Cohen of New York.
